COMPANY PROFILE

KwaZulu Natal Furniture Industries Council (KZN FIC) was established in 2006 as the development and support organization for KwaZulu Natal’s furniture industry. It currently represents 60 small and emerging furniture manufacturers across all regions of KwaZulu Natal, from eThekwini, South Coast, North Coast and Midlands.

The primary roles include promoting the interest of its members and the KwaZulu Natal furniture industry, facilitating members’ exposure to both domestic and world market, creating more skilled labour through human capital development, developing local design talents, forging strategic partnerships with government and trade-related agencies, harnessing knowledge for growth through use of e-commerce as a promotions and marketing tool.

Design Capacity/Innovation

To promote design and innovation as a critical strategic tool for the manufacturing industry.
Create awareness and promote of design as a critical discipline for differentiation and sustainability of the industry.

Industry Clusters & Enterprise Development

Aims to encourage cooperation and collaboration between small and medium enterprises Improve industry competitiveness.
To promote development of clusters through establishment of support infrastructure in all our region Promote SME networks.

Support Services

To facilitate increased market access via Trade Shows and other platforms such as business to business meetings.
Development and promotion of e-commerce as a tool for promoting businesses beyond our boundaries.
Facilitation of business information, training that will benefit the industry
To act as a bridge between the government, statutory boards and trade bodies to ensure that the industry’s views are heard.
